Assistant loco pilot is a crucial position in Indian Railways that plays a pivot role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation in train.
The RRB has started the online application process for assistant loco pilot.

Vacancies
The total number of vacancies under all RRBs which will be filled in this requirement drive is 5696.

Age Limit
The candidates who are in the age group of 18 – 30 years as on July 1, 2024 can apply for the assistant loco pilot.

Application free
The application fee is Rs 250 for SC, ST, ex-servicemen, female, transgender, minority, and EBC category candidates. For all other, it is Rs 500.

Selection Process
The recruitment process involves five stages, Computer Case test (CBT-1), second stage (CBT-2), computer based aptitude test (CBAT), document verification (DV), and Medical Examination (ME).

Exam Pattern
CBT-1 exam is conducted in online mode for 75 marks. A total of 75 multiple choice questions are to be answered in 1 hour. Candidates are awarded 1 mark for each correct answer, while a negative marking of 1/3 is done for every incorrect answer marked by the candidate. The questions in the RRB ALP CBT-1 are asked for Mathematics, Mental Ability, General Science, and General Awareness.

Exam Pattern for CBT-2
The candidates who qualify the RRB ALP CBT-1 are eligible for CBT-2. The RRB CBT-2 round will have two parts. Part A has questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Basic Science & Engineering, and Part B will be based on relevant trades. 1 mark for each correct answer and a negative marking of 1/3 for each incorrect answer.
