How to prepare for SSC JE mains

1. Who can appear for the paper-II exam?
Only the students who have already cleared the pre exam of SSC-JE can sit for paper-II.

2. What is the major change in paper-II?
This year SSC-JE changed the exam pattern for paper-II. Earlier this exam was taken in a subjective pattern. But from 2023 the main exam or paper-II will be held in an objective pattern. This is the major change.

3. Are calculators allowed in the paper-II objective exam?
Yes, calculators are allowed for paper-II which is multiple choice in nature. The allowance of calculators in this exam mainly represents that the nature of the questions is numerical which can be solved easily manually.

4. In which mode is paper-II conducted by SSC?
Paper-II is objective in nature and the exam mode is CBT (Computer Based Test).

5. How many questions does paper-II contain and what are the maximum marks?
Paper-II contains 100 questions of a particular branch/trade like civil, mechanical, electrical. Each question carries 3 marks so the maximum marks are 300. The duration of the exam is 2 hours.

6. Is there any provision of negative marking?
In the paper-II exam, for each correct answer, 3 marks are awarded by SSC and for each incorrect answer, there will be a negative marking of 1 mark.
